Recently the team from Jagrat went on a field trip to kheerganga trek. Along with us we took our resplendent ALOHA WATER BOTTLE.

For the unversed, Kheerganga is an ethereal trek nestled in a sleepy parvati valley and is also a gateway to Spiti valley. The Parvati valley reminds one of setting in Skyrim and also captures the possible idea of heaven in every mythology and fantasy - Enchanting mountain peaks covered with clouds, surrounding by sublime river!

During the journey we filled our Aloha Water bottle innumerable number of times from the pristine waters of Parvati and Kheerganga river.

This in turn reduced our purchase cost of water along with reduced burden of carrying single use plastic.
What's more, they are ergonomically designed better for carrying along during treks and hikes!

However our trekking spirits were dampened by the fact that there were so many bottles lying alongside the road - both plastic and glass.

Plastic bottles were mainly of water and beverages, which were thrown away after consuming their content. The glass bottles were primarily of alcohol which apparently were left behind in state of intoxication.

As travellers and hikers everyone should understand that our smallest actions have domino impact on our environment, especially in a pristine environment like those of Himalayas.
In the end its about responsible civic sense - whether glass or plastic. what does not belong to mountains should not stay in mountains. Our bottles came back to us safely and became a gateway for our memories in kasol and kheerganga. Seeking inspiration from Po we brought back a souvenier for ourselves.
